Fantasy of Flight.
You too could of had your picture taken with the likes of Kermit Weeks and Lt. Col. Gray of the Tuskegee Airmen. yup that's Mike Ketchpaw rubbing elbows.

How about this for a quick pitot test.
Copied from the ERCOUPE site and posted by James Bilello" coriolis36@yahoo.com
"I found that 1/2" clear plastic tubing fits over the end of my pitot static tube just perfect. (I may have to clamp it with a hose clamp for good measure) If I take five or six feet of this tubing and slip it over the pitot tube, I have a great static line and AS Indicator tester. Make a deep "J" in the tube and CAREFULLY add water to the open end. If the water seeks level between both sides of the "J", the static system is leaking. Test all connections and fix until THAT problem stops. Then . . . When the water starts rising on the open end, you have a great AS Indicator tester. Measure the difference in inches between the water level on the pitot side and on the open side. When the difference is 5", your airspeed indicator should be reading 100mph. Here's a pretty good graph I made to check full ranges:
MPH "H2O .....70=2.40", 80=3.24", 90=4.10", 100=5.00" (some say 4.94"), 110=5.92", 120=7.06", 130=8.32", 140=9.60", 150=11.00", 160=12.70", 170=14.40"."

Picture of the Month.

"Wow! Anyone for some crosswind practice?"

That squall that went through was strong enough to blow the street sign down and nearly did destroy our Marquee sign.
