EAA Chapter 908,
I’m a member of EAA Chapter 1241 here
in Florida and I’m emailing you to let you know that the Key West
International Airport (KEYW) is having their first ever Southernmost
Openhouse & Aviation Review (SOAR) on Saturday, February 5th,
2011. It’s a one day, free to the public event being produced by a new
501(c)3, not for profit called, Friends of the Key West International
Airport, Inc (FOTA). SOAR is not an air show, nor is it a fly-in.
However, consider this an invitation to attend, with or without your
airplane(s). After all, Key West in February is a great place to be
with great weather, warm water, world class fishing and diving, and a
relaxed atmosphere! SOAR will include aircraft static displays,
aviation exhibitors/vendors, flight opportunities (free for kids ages
8-17 thanks to the EAA Young Eagles program) in various types of
aircraft, and tours of the new terminal. We believe your members may be
interested in hearing about SOAR because, while our ramp space is very
limited, we still have space remaining for statics with a high “cool”
factor and because we also have exhibitor/vendor booth spaces available
for aviation businesses, and with attendance estimated at several
thousand, it’s a great opportunity to market to pilots, aircraft owners
and aviation enthusiasts in general. I have attached a flyer which can
be forwarded or posted as you see fit.
